RMS power: RMS power measures the amount of continuous power a car amplifier uses to drive your speakers. Make sure the RMS power on your amplifier matches the RMS power rating on your speakers and subwoofers to prevent car speaker damage.

Peak power: Peak power indicates how much wattage a car amplifier has available for short and sudden increases in sound. The number will always be higher than RMS.
There are three types of amplifiers:

Mono car amplifiers:power a single speaker.

Two-channel car amplifiers: powers two speakers and a subwoofer.

Four-channel car amplifiers: powers four speakers and two subwoofers; two speakers and a single subwoofer; or any configuration in between.

Look for these features:

Good bass: Make sure your car amplifier has a low pass filter that only sends low-frequency notes to your subwoofer. It will keep your subwoofer from trying to reproduce high notes.

Improve high-frequency audio:Car amplifiers with built-in high pass filter prevent your tweeters from trying to reproduce low-frequency sounds.

Look for speaker-level inputs: Most car stereos installed at the factory have a basic built-in amplifier. Look for a car amplifier with speaker level inputs that can process these already-amplified signals.

Provide extra amplification:You can connect one car amplifier to another to drive different speakers. If you want a multi-amplifier system, make sure your primary amplifier comes with a preamp output so that you can send a signal to your secondary amp.

i start with the HU..

i`m using the low entry Kenwood player feats usb port,vcd,mp3..(cannot use the dvd lor)
the HU is not bad but still not perform well..plan to change it to high end player(depends on money)..huhuhuhuh..

me oso put the 7 band pre-amp,4 channel middle range amp,2 channel middle range amp,2 set of component sets and 1 nos of 12 inc subwoofer(with the ready-made box that produce very2 annonying sound)..i`m using the CALIBER brand for the items i`ve mentioned above..(price is quite reasonable plus the quality is not bad for the normal user).

to minimise the distortion,i`m using AURA DYNAMICS RCA cable.

that`s all for the time being..i dunno what else to share..hahahhaha..so blur...

i wanna ask sumthing..change car player can give more effect to make much better sound or not..n second ques..standard car player for myvi can support or not for make new sound system sumthing like 2 woofer..4 mid..n can support or not if i used 1 or 2 amp..sorry i ask at this section..

changing the car player(Head Unit) is very important because from it the signal come from.try to change a good player n definitely u will hear the different.

standard player still can support but it is more ADVISABLE to put amp to protect the HU and the speaker.Plus,if u install the amp,the sound can be push to the max level.

a lot of model with various function in market now..
u may try it 1st..
please be aware of wiring as well..
it is pointless if u hv good HU,speaker n amp but u use the normal wiring..
